Things To Do

There's lodsa thing to do within easy travelling of our hotel.  Both Liverpool (every 10 minutes) and Chester (every 15 minutes) are only  20 minutes on the Merseyrail line.

CHESTER
Roman Experience Wander through Roman Streets, explore archaeological remains and handle ancient relics in its hands-on studio.
Grosvenor Museum Discover the history of the fascinating city of Chester and the people who have made it so special.
City Walls : Allow up to 2 hours to complete its 3km circuit enjoying superb views and privileged glimpses of some hidden gems. Few places can actually boast walls as complete or as ancient as Chester Walls.
Milatary Museum :  An attractive and interesting exhibition depicting the history of four famous Army Regiments connected with the County of Cheshire from 1685 to the present day.
Chester Zoo : Chester Zoo significantly contributes to the protection of species and habitats through a combination of field and zoo-based conservation.  By using the expertise of its staff and working with a wide range of national and international partners, it initiates and supports a variety of conservation activities. 
River Cruise Enjoy a relaxing 30 minute cruise, journeying up river beneath the suspension bridge, Grosvenor Park and the Earls Eye, following the long sweep of the 'meadows'. Delightful views are seen of beautiful and interesting riverside properties and gardens.

LIVERPOOL

River Tours : There's no better way to experience Liverpool and Merseyside than from the deck of the world famous Mersey Ferry listening to the commentary. During your 50 minute trip you'll learn about the city and the region's fascinating history, see its spectacular sights and discover its unique character
Tours : Take one of the many organised tours including the workings of the Mersey Tunnel, the home of Liverpool FC or everything about the Beatles,
World Museum : Is a fantastic day out - as well as fascinating objects from around the world, it also has an aquarium, a bug house, a theatre and a planetarium.
The Walker Art Gallery : One of the finest collections of fine and decorative art in Europe. Discover over six centuries of art at the national gallery of the North. 
Mersey Maritime Museum : Discover Liverpool's central role in centuries at sea as the gateway to the new world. Highlights include a poignant gallery about tragedies such as the Titanic, ship models and the Life at Sea display, telling how merchant navy ships operating out of the port have provided a lifeline in times of war and peace. 
International Slavery Museum : This explores both the historical and contemporary aspects of slavery, addressing the many legacies of the slave trade and telling stories of bravery and rebellion amongst the enslaved people.
Tate Liverpool : One of the largest galleries of modern and contemporary art outside London. It has almost 60,000 works in its collection, including British works from 1500 to the present day and twentieth century works by both British and International artists.It also has the World's largest collection of works by J M W Turner. I
Museum of Liverpool : Demonstrates Liverpool’s unique contribution to the world and showcase popular culture while tackling social, historical and contemporary issues. 

WIRRAL
Walking : With its unique location, there are many walks exploring the undulating countryside, exceptional landscapes and dramatic coastline of Wirral.
Cycling :There are cycling routes for all tastes.
Birdwatching : There are a couple of RSPB reserves very close to the hotel. If you'd like to combine your hobbies, there are even specialised birdwatching walks.
Space Port : A £10m attraction showcasing space and space travel offering an inspirational journey through space as you walk through six themed galleries : all of which are packed with interactive hands-on exhibits and audio-visual presentations.  Visits typically take two hours which include 30 minutes in the planetarium dome.
Port Sunlight Village : The finest surviving example of early urban planning in the UK. The late 19th Century village was built to house Lever Brothers' soap factory workers.  Set in 130 acres of what can only be described as beautifully maintained parkland with a mature treescape, there are 900 houses and some larger "principal" buildings. Nearly every building in the village is Grade II listed and two sections of the landscape are included in the English Heritage Register of Parks and Gardens of Special Historic Interest.
Lady Lever Art GalleryThis is a real treasure - as well as a stunning collection of paintings, it also houses beautiful furniture, Chinese collections, tapestries, sculpture, Wedgwood, classical antiquities and a beautiful building.
U-Boat Story : This is a £5m attraction telling the story of World War II German submarine U-534. You will see into the cross-sectioned submarine and discover its amazing story through a highly interactive and exciting exhibition.
Wirral Country Park : This contains areas such as The Dungeon (a sandstone gorge with woodland), Cubbins Green (a grassy cliff top area) - a place of contrasts. Badgers and foxes hunt the quieter parts, birds nest in the dense hedges or feed on the berries in winter, and you may see up to 10 kinds of butterfly in summer. Head for the 60 feet high, boulder-clay cliffs and look out over the Dee Estuary and you'll smell the tang of mud and salt, feel the sea breeze and get a sense of space unlike the enclosed, inland Wirral Way.

Southport
The beach is now the permanent home to ‘Another Place’, the sculpture by internationally acclaimed artist, Antony Gormley - he created the "Angel of the North".   Visitors can walk along the Coastal Path and take in views of the sea, the Wirral and North Wales. Access to this strip of coast is good with four train stations and free car parks.
